Who We Are

The Association for Core Texts and Characters is a 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to keeping classic texts alive in higher education. We believe in the transformative power of  reading important works together and engaging them through serious open-ended discussion, and we support teachers and administrators all over the world who are committed to this good work.

The annual Spring conference is our flagship event, but we offer programming year round including: undergraduate conferences and study abroad programs, discounted fees and networking opportunities for graduate students, summer faculty development workshops, Lectios (one-book/one-day conferences organized on the campuses of member institutions),  publications programs for academics and undergraduates,  online workshops and networking opportunities for core administrators.
